1. Who we are
RamList ("we", "us") is a price-comparison website for computer memory operated by LinuxGnut.com. You can reach us via the Contact page.
2. Information we collect
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, referer, and timestamp for every request. Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
- Community-listing submissions — when you submit a deal to the Community page, we store the URL you provided, an optional title, your email address (used only to send a confirmation link), and your IP address.
- Product ratings and reports — when you rate or report a product, we store your rating/notes and your IP address (used solely to rate-limit submissions).
- Contact form submissions — the name, email, and message you provide are emailed to the site operator and then deleted from the web app.
- Analytics — if you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics records aggregate session data (pages viewed, time on site, country, device type). We do not record clicks on individual elements or your full pageview history beyond what GA stores.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use the following categories of cookies. You can manage your preferences at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
- Necessary — required to operate the site (session, CSRF token, your cookie-consent choice itself). Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — Google Analytics. Disabled by default; enabled if you consent.
- Advertising — Google AdSense. Disabled by default; enabled if you consent.
4. Who we share data with
- Affiliate networks — when you click a "Buy" button, your browser is redirected to the retailer (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Newegg, or Best Buy) with our affiliate tracking ID appended. The retailer sets its own cookies on its own domain; we have no access to them.
- Cloudflare — used as a CDN and DDoS shield. Cloudflare processes request metadata to serve and protect the site.
- Google — Analytics and AdSense, only when you consent to those cookie categories.
- Email providers — Microsoft 365 (or another SMTP relay) is used to send transactional email (community-listing confirmations, contact form forwards).
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with parties other than the processors listed above.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion
- Opt out of analytics / advertising (via the Cookie Settings dialog)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
Send rights requests via the Contact page. We aim to respond within 30 days.
6. California residents (CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete that information, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). You can exercise these rights via the Contact page.
7. EU/UK residents (GDPR)
If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, our lawful basis for processing is your consent (analytics/advertising) and our legitimate interest in operating a secure site (server logs, rate limiting). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
8. Children
RamList is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
10. Contact
Use the Contact form for any privacy-related question.
